Alice In Wonderland High Tea At The Sanderson

I’ve been to many high teas in my time, but there’s none that delight and amaze in quite the way that the Sanderson’s Alice In Wonderland high tea does. Located in central London, the Sanderson Hotel offers a whimsical escape from everyday life with it’s unique high tea themed around Lewis Carroll’s beloved story about the adventures of Alice in that wacky word called wonderland. A visit in good weather gives the opportunity for tea in the Sanderson’s beautiful Japanese style garden.  Tea is served, but after that things take a turn away from the usual as we begin our journey down the rabbit hole. Every element is considered, from a riddle on your napkin to a note tied around a alchemist’s bottle saying “Drink Me”. The menu centres on the traditional high tea but with more than a slight twist. Cake’s change flavour mid way through eating them while popping candy and other delights shock your senses. I won’t give away all the secrets, it’s well worth being a little bit surprised, and with 2015 being the 100 year anniversary of the story now’s the perfect time to visit.
