I took a pre Christmas break to Bath for some quality birthday R&R. On the recommendation of our hotel we visited No.5 Bistro. This modern French bistro is modest and welcoming, with a three piece jazz trio and friendly service. We started with scallops and the traditional escargot in garlic sauce which were divine. For mains we tried Filet Mignon and duck done three ways, which, although I’m not a duck fan, was very tasty and well presented. This was followed by chocolate mousse, of which I consider myself a expert, which was somewhat disappointing. We relaxed and took our time enjoying the jazz before leaving and never felt rushed by the staff. A great medium priced spot for visitors to Bath.
